What Scooter Height Should I Choose?

A good starting point is to look at where the handlebars sit when the rider is standing naturally.

We generally recommend having the handlebars positioned between the navel and approximately 15 cm below it. This creates a comfortable open elbow angle, providing good control for both riding and tricks.

Here are our general guidelines:

• 95–112 cm: 3–5 years → scooter under 70 cm
• 112–126 cm: 5–7 years → scooter 60–75 cm
• 126–138 cm: 7–9 years → scooter 65–80 cm
• 138–149 cm: 9–11 years → scooter 75–80 cm
• 149–160 cm: 11–13 years → scooter 75–85 cm
• 160–165 cm: 13–15 years → scooter 78–85 cm
• Over 165 cm: 15+ years → scooter over 85 cm

These measurements are mainly a starting point. In freestyle riding, some riders deliberately choose a slightly lower scooter to improve maneuverability and control during tricks.

What About the Deck?

Handlebar height isn't the only thing to consider. The dimensions of the deck also have a major impact on how the scooter feels.

A wider deck gives your feet more room and can make certain slides easier. The trade-off is that it will generally feel slightly less agile.

The same principle applies to deck length:

• Long deck → more stability and control.
• Short deck → more maneuverability and easier aerial tricks.

Boxed or Cutted Deck?

The shape of the deck should also match your riding style.

Boxed decks, with a squared-off rear end, provide a great surface for slides. They are particularly popular for street and park riding, where riders use different edges of the deck on obstacles.

Cutted decks, with a tapered rear end, are generally lighter and more maneuverable. They are therefore particularly suited to skatepark riding and tricks.

The Right Size Depends on Your Riding Style

There isn't one perfect scooter size for everyone.

Rider height gives you a useful starting point, but your riding style, skill level and personal preferences should also influence your choice.
